Quiz submission record for finalsurvey at Mon Aug 16 21:13:54 2004: Your Answer for Question 1: lispc: 5 Nice project. There were somethings that weren't exactly specified on the specs, but it was fun project. It was sort of like cs61a all over again. sprintf: 4 Good testing of mips. Some of the specifications didn't match what we were suppose to do. Other than that a good project. proc: 4 At first I didn't like how it was made harder, but I feel I learned a lot more about pipelining because of this project and feel very comfortable with the topic. My only gripe would be the updates that came up, especially the one that came late. interrupts: 4 Like project 3, it gave an idea of how the cpu works. I feel I got more out of this than if I had to write an interrupt handler. The only thing I would have loved is if the project was released earlier. Your Answer for Question 2: The idea of face2face grading is a good one. It encourages those who get low scores to actually look at what the person did wrong. I know usually in my case, I look at the score and never really look at the homework again. This way it forces the person to find out a misunderstanding. That may contribute to the reason why grades seemed to be pretty high in this class. Your Answer for Question 3: I feel comfortable with verilog for the most part. Structural and data flow are I think I got down. Behavorial on the other hand seems to have a lot more to it. It looks more like a language, but there's a bunch of keywords that I don't think I'm familiar with. With MIPS, I feel I'm comfortable. With C, I'm comfortable with the material on C that was covered. Verilog for the most part is pretty easy, just connecting wires. It's coming up with implementations of hardware that's the difficult part, but the actual writing is easy. Your Answer for Question 4: a. 4 b. 1. Now that I know how a CPU works somewhat, my interest has grown. Your Answer for Question 5: cs162:2 cs164:2 cs150:2 cs152:-1 As for cs152, the 3rd project I think gave me a better idea of what the class is about. I would still love to take 152, it's just that my time is limited at Berkeley (I want to basically devote a semester just to that class with a light load, because of the work that class requires). Your Answer for Question 6: I would have loved it if we could have covered X86 architecture. Since that's what most people use, it would be relavent and it would be interesting to compare the different processors as there are different types in the real world. The stuff at the end seemed seemed like they were rushed (because of the review week following). There is nothing I really would change in the class. I thought things went well. Your Answer for Question 7: I would just like to say thanks to the staff for all the work they put in. This class has been time consuming, but fun at the same time. I'm looking forward to the upper division. Your unique submission ID is finalsurvey-cs61c-al-1092716034-553.
