If the branch is further than the 16-bit field of the conditional branch instruction (beq), then the assembler will insert an unconditional jump to There  (to be reversed if it is found that the jump was unnecessary).  However, since what is There modifies the registers used in teh comparison, if it tries to evaluate There first it may end up with invalid results.
