1) projector: if you give it the on input (by pulling the switch) it turns on; if you turn it off then you see a different output.
2) the parking meter with 5, 10, 25 coins
3) the laptop with it's keyboard input.

i believe that any electronic device is a finite state machine according to the definition of the book!
